The nature of water tides inspires this painting, the regular rise and fall of the ocean’s surface caused by the gravitational forces of the moon and the Earth’s rotation. When the tide recedes, you often find elusive flotsam left in the crevices of the sand. As the tide comes in, the ocean world is hidden once more.
